you are my sunshine...

*this will be a long one. :)

There was a Kiehl's event this evening. I went with Doc. It was alright. Another product trying to join the bandwagon of eco-movement. I would be going through the press kit to see if they're doing anything besides unveiling designer calico bags. Really, why do we need designer calico bags? They're meant to be used, destroyed in wear and tear and replaced, all within 3 months of regular use. It's a substitute for paper bags, do we have designer paper bags?

I guess the most ridiculous of all, is an Aunty who buys 3 or 4 calico bags in Jusco, and then asked for it to be bagged in a plastic bag to carry. Errr???

Sometimes I reckon a lot of brands in the market carry the eco-movement too superficially. How far Kiehl's will go with their eco-movement, only time will tell.

Anyways, after Kiehl's, I made a dinner date with Von-H at Gardens. There were 2 more hours to kill before she comes. All the walking about caused my feet misery, it hurts, bad footwear.

As I sorely needed a new pair of black flats since my last one got destroyed, I ended up buying an overpriced pair of black leather flats. I'd like to blame the pressing pain in my feet for impairing my judgment on fair-price. The new shoe was made of leather, and as it is typical with leather shoes, it bites for the first few wears. So I have very intelligently elevated my torment to new and unharmed areas of my feet. Smart. Lets just hope that in time, this overpriced pair of flats will prove its worth.

In spite of the aching feet, I really enjoyed my time out with Von-H. Things we did according to sequence of events:
  • Going through magazines in MPH, and going ooh-wah-really?-eh, see! and so on. It was nice to get excited over things that don't really matter.
  • Having dinner at the food court in Gardens. At my recommendation, we both opt for Korean. The food was nice, and the Korean boss was pleasant. We left happy and well fed.
  • Next stop: Action City, where I got to check out stuff toys and new inventions made in China.
  • One of our best stops: Lego! Von-H and I both grew up with Legos. We love our Legos. I still do mine. We went through the shop gleefully reminiscing about our childhood and our Lego sets, and marveling at the new ones that are out. (They even had spongebob in Lego) We were pointing at completed models that reminded us of the ones we have built in our days. Von-H tells of having fictional Lego characters where she brings them to life with names and a life story filled with daily activities. Mine... Mine were just build, dismantle, build something else, dismantle... my lack of imagination.
  • Delectable was next. It's a cake shop by one of Von-H's friend. The cakes were like works of art.
  • Last stop: mothership numero uno aka Robinsons. Von-H couldn't believe that Robinsons was that affordable. She was elated, but spent only 100-bucks. I'm sure she'll be back for more. :P
These two-days, though I'm swarmed with work, I am happy. Yesterday after work and meetings, was a movie date with Sher. We watched Wolverine. All Mondays should resemble a weekend hang-over. :)

I have so much to be thankful for.
Adding to the list... My friends make me a very happy Stef.
