adding to the crime rate

It was pretty scary.

Today two crimes happened too close for comfort.

First was a snatch theft at the cafe next to my office. It was said that that motorbike has been making his rounds on the block for over 2 weeks. The victim is a young lady who was having lunch with her Caucasian mother-in-law and a young son. It seems that this block is a hot spot for snatch theft. Its a wonder, people have seen this motorbike do its rounds over the last two weeks, but why is it that we've not seen the police make even one round? Were they doing it at 2am when the rest of us were not around? When the police arrived after the incident, I questioned, where were they before that? Why does it seemed like our police force tackle crime after it has happened, and not to prevent it? Or maybe they did and have been but we were just one of the many (I dare not say most) unlucky ones who never benefited from it.

The potatoes relating the incident to our landlady who lives upstairs. Her husband was held at knife point along this stretch too.

Second was at Midvalley. I found a parking lot near the escalator, and I parked my car. Opposite my lot, there were some car-park security and some malay ladies gathered around a sedan, and YT and I heard 'habislah. pecah!' (translates as 'that's it. it's broken into.') Sounds like someone's got a smashed car window, and so near to one of the entrances too.

Crimes have escalated to become more brazen than ever.

May God watch over our coming in and our going out.
