Party Girl Search 09 @ Mardigras

On a work assignment, Inez and I took to Mardigras. The plan was, go early, show face, leave asap. We ended up staying for 3 hours, the owners personally played host to us, and we felt obliged to stay.

Here are the girls on the bar top in lingerie sponsored by Xixili. They're all 18-20 year olds.

They came out all looking overtly self-conscious and terribly desperate for the cameras. They seem to follow the cameras instead of the way round.



I am sure we have better talents than this, what do you think?

Mardigras trying to reenact 'Christmas in the Summer'. Hence, I don't understand the snow bit.

The reason for bringing Christmas forward by many months, was according to the owner (paraphrased): Christmas is about Christ coming to earth to wash the sins of mankind and redeem them, so having Christmas early, we want to wash away all the bad stuffs of this year, and hopefully things will be better from here on.

Err... O-k-a-y.

Before he left us to attend to other patrons, he reminded us to help him to 'spread the gospel', meaning he would like us to promote Mardigras in our mag.

After the Countdown to Christmas, the girls came out again supposedly to woo the crowd, but I am not sure they were good at it.

Maybe I'm just too old to be amazed by such display. They have failed to communicate an element of mystique. Boring.

All the cynicism aside, the night was good. The people were nice (because we were media), and the photographers were cool (because they are).

While we were there, we saw Leona Chin, who is a race driver. It was her birthday.
