Dinner at the Lees, finally!

After a few long months, I find myself back at the Lee's having home cooked dinner. :)

SS who is now over 5 months into her first pregnancy, was looking more radiant than ever as she excitedly showed me all her scans.

My very dear friend is expecting a baby boy!! She began to relay her experiences so far, how she can feel the little one move inside her. How when she shifts around in her sleep, so does baby. It was lovely. SS's mum who was with us was even more excited to agree to all this, and to add her experience to it too. It was a happi-dilly evening. :)

My preggy friend also showed me the article she wrote for Her World. See her name!

Now that she is no longer working for the uni, she's doing some freelance writing, and devoting much to home and family. It also means, she's no longer too tired after work, hence I get to come to her house and freeload on home-cook meals, swim, gym, shower, and sleep! :P

And once in awhile when Chen's parents visit from Taiwan, I get to share in the Taiwan goodies too. :) Here're some dried mangoes from Taiwan.

Chen's mum bought a kilo of mangoes and sent it to a lady to be dried to these pieces. This is just some of it. It's really nice, the mango has a very distinct taste, different from the mass produced ones, and definably less sugar.

Dinner for the night was going to be dumplings!

I love having hands on dinner with people I love. And with SS, it's low-fat and real healthy and tasty stuff.

Here are the wrapped dumplings, waiting to go through the boil. :)

These are some leftovers, but trust me, it's real yummy. The spread is a mix of mayonnaise, sour cream, spinach, and fruit; served chilled on a warm bread.

There was noodles too, with fresh mushrooms. Chen took a lot of this!!!! Grrr... :P

For dessert, SS made a herbal concoction known as loh han guo.

And there was oranges, which Chen and I reckon was sour, but SS and mum thought it was sweet. Odd.

I'm looking forward to more home-cook at SS and Chen's! Love them heaps.

SS's note to remind Chen to bring his lunch to work. :D
