not sparing the dead

A Japanese cemetery from the Second World War, located off Jalan Loke Yew, Kuala Lumpur.

I grew up passing this cemetery on the way to school. I remember the canopy of trees that grew in and around the cemetery, with beautiful white flowers as numerous as the leaves, it was beautiful.

Today, it's left to neglect, a very sad sight, and perhaps at a threat of being removed.

The dead are left to rest with the trash.

I was surprised to find this, the resting place of a 16 year old boy- Jeffrey Mervyn O'Hara.

There was a pair of old boots by the side, a bag at the back of the stone and a broken white tile on the top.

The trees- dead, dying, and thriving- are left to fend for themselves. Their pretty white flowers are no longer seen.

To add to the neglect, it has become a dumping ground for a trash of sorts.

Even abandon vehicles.

I will definitely be back to take a closer look at this place again. Today's visit was a mere 5-minutes on a work assignment.
