I promised you updates from my day trip yesterday, so here goes...
A few of us school mates decided to go on a one-day trip to a place of my choice as a birthday treat for me. I chose Melaka. It's near enough for a day trip, and I do like the quiet old town.
Come morning, and Benny, Shen, Irwin, ZY and myself piled into Irwin's Avanza. There was no plan except a destination. When we arrived, the only thing we could think of was, eat-walk-eat-walk-eat-eat. Having forgone breakfast, all of us were famished when we arrived. Too hungry to wait in any queue, we settled for the chicken rice ball shop with the least customers, and thank goodness the food was actually alright.
It rained throughout our trip, long periods of drizzle really. So, I didn't get to fly my kite. But it was okay, because we ate at the Ice Kacang shop which I like and craved, and we also had Satay Celup, which turned into an episode of gross gastronomics peppered with lots of laughs.
I love these guys, they were comfortable company to have around, and they laughed easily. The drive back was especially fun as the guys began to recall all the nuisances they were up to during our MC (secondary school) days. That's when I realized, I was such a good girl, that I had no story to tell. I followed the rules, did everything right, I was boring in comparison to their very colorful school years. And so I developed a new-found respect for school rascals. :P
All said and done, this trip was great. They tried to sing me a birthday song in the car, but sort of failed. :D But I had much fun laughing with them, and just having all of them with me for the whole day. Thank you guys. :) This is another reason why I love being in Malaysia. :)
P/s: Thank you Aunty Lucy for lending me your camera until mine arrives. If not for yours, I would have missed out on all these videos. :)
