Bent on a change

Since late last year, I've been trying to make some lifestyle changes. To be fair and honest, I was at the trying-stage for the longest time, it must have been like the last 4 years or something that felt like it.

I've always believed that God has dealt me with a very good set of cards in life, and while I've messed up every now and then, I've always felt sense of responsibility over myself. How I handle myself, and what I do to me. Like if I get myself wasted, I feel I've been very irresponsible. You get my drift?

While, I've never been one to do outrageously crazy things, I've not been intentionally taking much care of myself either. I guess to some extent I cared for myself like a boy, the kind of boy my brothers are. If I cut myself, I gave the wound little care; I slept at all hours regardless of the havoc my immune system and skin wrecks the next day. You know, stuff like that.

And, after so long of both wanting and trying to take care of myself- and some may even say, to treat myself more like a lady- I've come to want this more than ever.

So all this, is really just about... taking care of myself- body, mind and spirit.

I've clearly gone pass the age and stage, where I think I could do just about anything I want simply because I'm young. In fact, it's been awhile since I was there.

Today, I think I can say I've gotten on quite ok in taking care of the body. This is of course marked by healthier choices, increased fitness, weight loss, and other aspects of general health and beauty.

Although I'm not quite there yet, over the last two months, I've got myself into a routine I'm quite comfortable with. It runs something like this:

Monday: Gym
Tuesday: Rest
Wednesday: Gym/Bukit Gasing/ Bukit Kiara
Thursday: Gym
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Jungle trek/ waterfall/ some outdoorsy stuff
Sunday: Badminton

Sometimes I give myself three rest days instead of two. It really depends on how I feel, and how my body is coping. The last thing I want is an injury that will ground me for the whole week and knock me off my routine.

I've also embarked on some other lifestyle changes, which I will share in time to come.

For now, it's just WAY pass my bedtime. And being the good girl that I am (ahem), good night people. :P
