A new toy for the big girl

I've been talking and wanting to get myself a DSLR for the past two years. If there was one person I can credit for taking most of all my wishful talking, it was Wen. Poor dude. :P

Anyways, since he requested for photos of me opening my new toy, I willingly obliged. So here goes!

Here's my new toy leaving its mother ship.

Right after picking up the D5000, I was tied up with an appointment which dragged on quite late.

By the time I got back to the office again, everyone has left, and I had to take the pictures of the debut myself.

Nikon also threw in an extra battery, a 4GB SD card, and a camera case for me.

The price wasn't great compared to what was offered in the US, but it was good enough.

Lookie, lookie...

Vari-angle screen. But as they say, all mechanical things that moves tend to wear and tear faster. Handle with care.

And here it is with the kit lens.

I'm very happy and excited with m choice, and at the same time, I feel somewhat overwhelmed about all the know-how that I have to learn and figure out with this.

I can't wait to get comfortable with it, and I think I'll take it along for Sophia's baby shower this Friday!
