First was about travels. Which lead to my main problem with travelling- the difficulty of finding a like-minded travel partner. Take for instance, how hard is it to find even ONE person who would want to go to Laos or Cambodia. My mates generally prefer shopping, beach, city, and/or expensive (like to Japan, Korea, US) holidays. I like places like Nepal, Laos, and China. Not that I don't like the expensive ones, but maybe later.
Then the Lady suggested that guys are usually game for the kind of holidays I like. That's the problem. Guys are. But, I am not comfortable sharing a room with a guy. Shocked glares from the Lady and the Missus.
L: "But Stef, you need to get use to that? Sharing a room with a guy teaches you how to 'behave' in the room."
S: "I don't need to share a room with a guy to learn how to behave."
L: "What if you have a boyfriend next time? At least now, you get to learn."
M: "Stef cannot wan."
S: "Having a boyfriend is different from sharing a room with some guy on travels."
L: "Stef, are you a virgin?" (very serious face)
M: (laughing away)
S: (HUH!)
L: (still staring expectantly at me)
M: (s.t.i.l.l. laughing)
No, I'm not telling you.
........
L: "I need to set you up with someone. You need to be dating." "Missus, you should be able to introduce some to her, your Mister has got lots of guy friends."
M: "They all have children already wan lah."
L: "What kind of guy do you like?"
M: "Stef wants him to be adventurous la, funny la, interesting la"
L: "Adventurous, no problems, I know a lot of guys..." "Funny, got lah, but its dirty [jokes] want wor"
S: "Don't want dirty" (Lady shoots a glare at me) "What? I've met quite a few who are funny without the dirty."
For a moment it seems like I have made it difficult for them to think of any guy that might match the funny without dirty. But what I said next garnered a greater headache for them.
S: "Oh, and a non-smoker."
L: "WHAT?"
M: "HAR!" (disbelieve plastered onto her expression)
L: "Why? How?"
Suddenly, they had no one in mind.
It seems like these days, to expect a single and available straight guy to be a non-smoker, and capable of being funny without dirty is just....
asking for too much.

Laos, Cambodia, China are okay for me. But cos I've promised my friends that our 1st priority will Japan; and we'll only discuss other places if we unable to make it.(it's expensive tho)
End of this year, hope and do wish we'll go traveling again. I've missed last year.
Do you still want me?? *_o
