One of the things I enjoy very much on my job, is being able to look through contest entries.

The last time when we ran a David Archuleta contest, entries came in all forms, sizes and colour. I was impressed by the efforts these fans made to impress us. Some wrote David's name fancily all over the envelope, others even put in some scrap-booking effort, and some in their desperation even profess love for us!

I could never understand how anyone would go through all this trouble only to stand a chance in their pursuit of an item of someone they're so crazy about, but might never ever meet in person. I've always wondered how people can be so driven in their fascination over a celebrity. It is almost admirable.

During my high school days, my female classmates were bordering crazy over the boy bands and the likes of Wang Lee Hom. Boy bands were huge in my days, there were the nsync, backstreet boys, westlife and boyzone. I'm an oddball, and I never caught on the craze, or even got close to it. In fact, I was quite taken by high school seniors rather than a man on a CD cover. Don't get me wrong, I love music, but the craze over the people behind the music is beyond me. The best I could do was to admire and appreciate their talent, I couldn't love them.

In our latest magazine, we ran a contest for Transformers' merchandise. I can't wait to see the contest entries, because the merchandise are really cool, that even I want it! I wonder what kind of entries we'll be getting.
