People change.I use to hate egg tarts. Back then I reckon that the egg taste is too strong, and the custard center is too soft, like bean curd (which I also do not like). Now, I absolutely lurve it! I crave for it every other day. It's probably one of the easiest things to do to make me all smiley and skippy- give me an egg tart. :PThe other day, our office landlady brought over some of her homemade egg tarts, and her's are one of the best I've had.
Anyways, this week I've been craving for food every two hours I'm awake. It maybe normal for Christine, but not for me. Aside from the hunger pangs, I've been curious about my food too, constantly seeking out something unusual to try. Today I got these from Lavender in Pavilion...Bamboo Charcoal Mochi
The black cracked surface of the bun leaves people skeptical. Maybe that why there where quite a lot of it on the tray. But to curious Stef, this is heaps good. It's a black sesame bun with a slight chew to it. :)
I also got this- Yamaguchi Sushi
It's like spring rolls, but the texture is denser and less sweet. Most of the flavor comes from the filling, which includes meat floss, corn, seaweed, and mayo.
I liked this one too, but I wasn't as impressed as I was with the Mochi. Maybe skeptical presentations helps lower expectations and increase impression. :)Dang, I'm hungry again.
