I always have an awesome time in Singapore. It's not the food, or the place, it must be the people. I love my friends there a lot, and boy am I glad that they are in Singapore and not in far-away-Australia where they were.
My first night was spent with Aunty Lucy. Bless that dear aunty who is always so hospitable. This Singaporean really knows her country, from where to eat, where to shop, right down to the nitty gritty of all things Singaporean, if she doesn't know it she knows someone who does. Our bond was not forged overnight. It took a few years, but now I've become increasingly fond of her.
The second and third night was spent at Sylvy and Richard's. Richard was posted in Oklahoma till end Nov. So Sylvy and I had the weekend to ourselves for the most part. The other OCFers like Kev, Fannie and Elvin came by to hang out as well. It was so nice. These peeps are my home away from home, all of whom I feel comfortable confiding in.
This time round, I managed to meet up with Chin Keat. He's been working in Singapore for over a year. He is one of the few schoolmates I've never spoken to during high school, but we've become really good friends over the past year. Catching up with him in Clark Quay, we had much to chatter and laugh about.
The downsides to my 4-day trip in Singapore:
- I didn't have the time to meet with VonH
- I didn't get to go to MOS burger (I forgot about it till the last day)
- I didn't get to go to Centerpoint to get cute stuffs
- It was too short, and I didn't get more time with everybody else!!!
Then again... there is always next time. :)
