Amouage of Oman

SherB gave me a gift yesterday...

Amouage Spring Sonata candle.

This came in a hard maroon and gold box lined immaculately with fine velvet. Inside nested a cream coloured candle evoking scents of classic gardenia, jasmine and lily, teamed with more exotic flowers such as frangipani and ylang ylang. It also came with a gold lid with Amouage's signature emblem.

Such meticulous finishing and the exquisite scent got me curious about Amouage. The packaging says its from Oman, but made in France. According to Amouage.com, this brand was founded about 25 years ago, as a niche luxury fragrance house that draws inspiration from its birthplace of the Sultanate of Oman, infusing reference points from a rich and colorful heritage.

As I wondered about the site, I saw the price tag on my gift. While I knew this wasn't cheap stuff, I didn't expect it to carry an 80Euro price tag! SherB, you're going to spoil me real bad, lets keep it simple next time k. :)
