Should I make scents?

I like L'Occitane's Rose des 4 Reines Solid Perfume.
I've been wanting to try perfume solids. And by try, I don't just mean try using it, but making it as well. It's supposedly very doable, the main ingredient being beeswax or petroleum jelly mixed with essential oils.

The delight of making my own perfume solid is that I'd get to experiment with different scents, potency, and I get to keep them in tiny containers to be carried with me. Too cute!

Perfume solids would also make a nice addition to my alcohol-based spray perfumes, which can irritate the nose, especially immediately after a spray.

So, should I make or should I buy?

*Updated on 13 Nov: I went looking for beeswax and essential oils. They're difficult to find and places that sell essential oils are extremely limited in selection, and too expensive. I guess I would have to buy perfume solids if I want them. *sigh*
