A quiet Saturday

The MacBook still refuses to come back to life. Its disheartening. I've broke the news to Wen (the owner of this poor machine), and he seem to find it rather amusing. Go figure. :)

This Saturday was initially packed with a hike to Ampang Forest in the morning, followed by lunch with some friends, and finally dinner with my brother and his friends. Everything changed when my brother fell ill and showed no signs of improvement. After running some errands with him, I find myself back home, in my room without the familiar entertainment and distractions of a computer.

In the absence of the machine, I learned to enjoy and pay attention to a soothing silence in my room.

I started to notice more things around me which were due for more attention- like the rising pile of papers on my table, so conveniently stacked to the side; the huge box for my Nikon D5000 which still sat unperturbed at the foot of my table; magazines from work which has now grown from one pile to three, and freebies which has accumulated from one bag to three.

I spent a good hour sorting through all these quietly. It was nice. I appreciated the quiet and although I did not manage to head out of the metro today (as is my habitual practice), this was good enough for now.

By the end of the hour, I threw out 3 bags of trash, 1 bag of plastic recyclables, 2 bags of paper recyclables, and have set aside 3 more boxes of paper materials to be sold to the recycling plant (which I must do in the next two weeks).

With a few hours to spare and little for entertainment, I laid back in bed to read before falling into a 3-hour nap.

Nice. :)
