Today's plan included a visit to Joanne's, a movie with them, ending with dinner at Benny's and Marv's.
At Joanne's we played Monopoly Deal. It's a card version of this infamous board game. It was my first time playing it and I won by a close margin. I think if I had not dealt a certain card or drew that particular card, my brother would have won the game in that round itself.
It was a nice game, but there were hints that it wouldn't stay nice for long. Like the board game version, a few more rounds and you'd get bored.
Then there was Pictionary with Marvin's friends, and Benny. I've played simplified variations of this game, but not Pictionary itself. Turns out, it served as interesting observation of all the players at the table, and their 'artwork'.
Most of them friends were peeps from our secondary school. Among the guests, I was one of only two girls, the rest were dudes. Benny, PL [the other girl] and myself were in one team, pitted against two other teams that were all boys. Observing all these players were interesting, whether it was on competitiveness, or down to our hilarious artwork.
What made this game this much fun for me, was that the differences in each one of us were made very apparent in this game, and because of that very difference, we had loads of fun. Everybody, intentionally or unintentionally gave us a different reason to roll over laughing.
That said, I gave myself a pretty free rein that night to play and have fun. I allowed myself to be competitive, to squeal in excitement, and to laugh out loud. Everytime my team mates were the first to guess my drawings correctly, I gave a cheery squeal, followed by a proclaimation of love. It was something like "Yaayyy!!!! I love you so much!" I think I must have told Benny and PL that I love them numerous times that night.
Now as I recall the crazed moments, I try not to think about it too much. I'm feeling embarrassed already.
