That said, good things should be shared, and I make an exception when I come across something that completely blows me away.
Recently, I went out hunting for a body lotion/moisturiser. Being one of the unfortunate ones for having mild eczema, I have a tendency for dry and sensitive skin. It doesn't help that due to a genetic blood disorder, my skin often takes [literally] ages to heal small wounds like mosquito bites, not to mention big ones.
So over the years, I have been very selective of the products I use. I love scents, but artificial fragrances are something I shun from when I can, so my alternative are essential oils [which I love very much]. I also try to steer away from a list of other skin irritants that are both synthetic and non-synthetic.
Needless to say, when I had to choose a body lotion, it took time. I would read through almost all the printed information on the product right down to the place and date of manufacture, before deciding. And I would not just read off one product, I would read off half of the selection on the shelf, before narrowing down to the one thing that sounded like it was worth a try.
Today, I found Sukin. It's an Australian natural and organic skincare brand that infuses high levels of botanicals and essential oils in their product.
I chose Sukin's Hydrating Body Lotion.
I reckon the price of RM 53 for 500ml to be very reasonable for the quality of ingredients in this bottle. With the exception of the first ingredient [purified water], everything else is from natural botanical and plant extracts. With so many different essential oils, one may feel greasy just reading off the label. But having tried the tester, and used it generously when I got home, I love it. I love the scent of the natural essential oils. I love how it feels so comfortable. I love it for being completely non-greasy, while leaving the skin with a visible glow. I love it that it spreads so well, that I needed to use notably less [in volume] as compared to my previous lotions. I have already written so much, and I could rave on this much-much longer! [But I shall not, less you worry] :P
I would be back for more of their products. I have to say...the Australians are good at this sort of thing [natural remedies], and for that, I may also be a little bias.
That said, I give it a huge PLUS for being an environmentally responsible company. Sukin has been certified as a carbon neutral company [which means they maintain a zero carbon admission bottom line]. That is not all, they have also invested in other efforts in the prevention of climate change, the most apparent of all at consumer level is its recyclable packaging, made with minimal wastage. [I dis at beauty products that come in excessive packaging (eg. a bottle of cream placed in a paper box, then sealed with plastic), anything more than a recyclable bottle/tub/tube/sachet, is excessive] .
So I buy this for my skin, and I choose this for the earth. I'm a model citizen. Hear ye, hear ye! :D
